How to Complete Your Jewellery Record Card

Why Choose Threadless Jewellery?

Threadless jewellery uses tension instead of traditional screw threads to hold the decorative end securely in place. It’s simple to use, comfortable to wear and makes changing your jewellery quick and easy.

  • No turning tiny balls or decorative ends the wrong way
  • Easy to insert and remove
  • Secure when the pin is adjusted correctly
  • Mix and match compatible tops and posts
  • Most threadless tops are cross-gauge compatible from 20g to 14g
  • To use the same top with a different gauge post, simply readjust the bend in the pin for a secure fit

How To Use Threadless Jewellery

To attach the decorative top:

  • Insert the pin approximately halfway into the threadless post.
  • Gently bend the exposed portion of the pin slightly to one side.
  • Align the pin with the post and press the top firmly into place.
  • Check that the connection feels secure and does not wobble.

To remove it:

  • Hold the post securely.
  • Grip the decorative top with your other hand.
  • Pull the two pieces directly apart using a gentle twisting motion.
  • Never pull the jewellery from the piercing itself without supporting the tissue or securing the post.

Adjusting the fit:

  • If the top feels loose, remove it and increase the bend very slightly.
  • If it is difficult to insert, reduce the bend slightly.
  • Make tiny adjustments—the pin needs a subtle curve, not a sharp bend.
  • Never bend the pin while it is fully inserted into the post.
  • Test the connection before wearing it.

Fresh Piercings and Professional Support

Only professionally sterilised jewellery should be installed during the initial healing period. This includes any jewellery used for downsizing. Healing times vary, so visit a qualified piercer for downsizing or assistance with installing, removing or changing jewellery.
